After four years since the last book sale, it felt like time for another such fundraising event. Parishioners generously donated unwanted books, CDs and DVDs and it soon got underway, generating lots of interest and sales. The weekend sales were boosted by attendees at the Coronation coffee morning who included neighbours, passers-by and members of ‘Stitching Together’ as well as parishioners.
Unsold books will be collected and sold at the book fair which takes place twice a month (first and third Thursdays) at the Moravian Church (381 King’s Road, SW10 0LP ). Book lovers – do take a look at their big collection, you will be impressed! Their profits go to Mary’s Meals which of course, our parish has also supported in the past year.
Alongside the book sale, there was a raffle with prizes donated initially by a resident of Battersea Place and added to by several parishioners.
The book sale raised £358 and the raffle made £118, giving a grand total of £476 for the parish renovation fund. Thank you all for your generosity!
