New Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
On Saturday 11th February, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, a Commissioning Day, was held at St. George’s Cathedral, Southwark during which new Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion were commissioned for parishes across the Archdiocese of Southwark.
Among those new ministers were six members of our parish community who were authorised in the name of Archbishop John Wilson to carry out this ministry for our parish community.
The day was led by Canon Gerard Bradley, the Episcopal Vicar for South West London and Monsignor Gerald Ewing the Vicar General of the Diocese. Deacon Michael, in his capacity as Chancellor of the Diocese also took part and was Deacon at the commissioning Mass in the Cathedral.
The day was a day of reflection on the Eucharist, with talks by Canon Bradley along with a practical presentation by Monsignor Ewing. There was also a period of Adoration in the Cathedral before the Blessed Sacrament.
We congratulate Jean Carlos, Mauricuz, and Luis Berandal, Michael Coughlan, Geoffrey Randalls and Bruce Archie and thank them for agreeing to serve our parish in this way.
We pray for them and for all those who exercise this ministry in our
parish family.
